Frequently Asked Questions
Everything parents and goalkeepers ask us about sessions, booking, camps and The Last Line.
Sessions & Free Taster
How does the free taster session work?
Your goalkeeper's first group session is free. It's open to new goalkeepers only, with one taster per goalkeeper, and it's subject to availability. Book in advance through our booking system, and if you decide to continue after the taster, you can book and subscribe for the weekly sessions.
What happens after the free taster?
After your goalkeeper's first session, we'll have a quick chat about their experience and recommend the best next step, whether that's weekly group sessions or 1-2-1 coaching. If you decide to continue, you can book and subscribe for the weekly sessions.
What days and times do sessions run?
See our Session Timetable for the days, times and venues of every group session and 1-2-1 slot.
Where do your group sessions take place?
We run weekly academies in Glasgow (Toryglen Football Centre), Glasgow East (Stepford Football Centre) and Edinburgh (The Oriam, opening 29 November). Our Lanarkshire academy returns in Spring 2027. See the Group Sessions page for the latest venues.
What ages can take part?
Our group sessions are open to all age groups. If you're not sure which session suits your goalkeeper, get in touch and we'll point you in the right direction.
What should my goalkeeper bring?
Suitable kit and footwear for the weather, gloves and water. Please arrive on time, and let us know about any medical condition, injury, allergy or additional need that could affect your goalkeeper's safety.
Do parents need to stay during sessions?
Parents and guardians remain responsible for their child's supervision before and after sessions, including drop-off and pick-up.
Booking & Payment
How do I book?
Use the Book Free Taster buttons on our website, which take you to our secure booking system. Places are confirmed once your booking is accepted and any payment due has been received.
What if my goalkeeper can't make a session?
Tell us as soon as possible. We may offer a credit or an alternative session. Camps and events run on set dates, so bookings are generally non-refundable, although if you ask in good time we may offer a refund, credit or transfer to another date.
What happens if a session is cancelled?
Sessions can be changed or cancelled because of bad weather, venue closures, safety concerns or low numbers. We'll let you know as soon as we can. If we cancel, we'll offer a replacement date, a credit or a full refund.
Is payment secure?
Yes. Payments are taken through our booking and payment providers, and we never store full card details.
Coaching & Camps
Do you offer 1-2-1 coaching?
Yes. Our 1-2-1 coaching is built around your goalkeeper's level and goals. Payment is due before the session. If you cancel a 1-2-1 less than 8 hours before it starts, payment will still be required. Get in touch to find out what's available.
What camps and events do you run?
We run one-day coaching events, Christmas camps and a residential camp. Our Christmas camps are Train Like The Pros on 27 December and the Professional Goalkeeping Masterclass in Edinburgh on 28 December. See Camps & Events for the latest, and our residential camp returns in summer 2027.
What is The Hub?
The Hub is our 12-month online goalkeeper development programme, with video, education and coach feedback. Access is personal to the goalkeeper it is booked for.
Do you work with clubs?
Yes. We partner with grassroots and amateur clubs across Scotland. See Club Partnerships or contact us to talk it through.
The Last Line
What is The Last Line?
The Last Line: A Goalkeeper's Guide to Mindset, Confidence and Control is a book by Ross Ballantyne, built around the C.A.L.M. framework (Control, Adapt, Lock In, Move On). Pre-order it here.
When will my copy arrive, and do you post abroad?
The eBook is released on 23 November 2026 and the paperback on 7 December 2026. Paperbacks come with free delivery to UK addresses only. The eBook is available worldwide, and pre-orders include the free SGK Principles of Play eBook.
Safety & Safeguarding
How do you keep goalkeepers safe?
Sessions are delivered by UEFA licensed coaches, and coaches may stop or adjust any activity they believe is unsafe. We're committed to the welfare of every child and young person in our sessions. If you have any concern, contact us straight away at info@savehandsgk.com or on 07738 923 403.
Do you take photos and video?
We may take photos and video at sessions for coaching and to promote SGK. We ask for parent or guardian consent before using images of a child in our marketing, and you can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.
